Croatian shindig Hideout Festival lives and dies by the quality of its boat parties, and this year’s selection has something for everyone.
Monday 1 July will see Newcastle duo People Get Real and Mike Jones rep the Welcome To Hideout Beats Boat. The Welcome To Hideout Bass Boat, meanwhile, will be commandeered by North Base, Mak, Northern Lights and Tonn Piper. Things step up substantially on Tuesday July 2, with Drop The Mustard’s boat hosting an afternoon session from house/garage upstart Huxley, plus Alexis Raphael and Death On The Balcony. Crosstown Rebels’ Subb-an and partner-in-crime Adam Shelton will take to the waves under the One Records flag, and Dub Boro will recruit Joker, High Contrast and Doorly for their trip. Mono_cult will also hit the waves.
Pick of the Wednesday boats is Aus Simple’s showcase, featuring George Fitzgerald, label boss Will Saul and the brilliant Midland. Heidi will host Ben Pearce on her boat, with Metropolis recruiting Friction, Artwork and MistaJam. Redlight and Bondax will also share a vessel, courtesy of We Own.
Thursday boasts the finest fleet of the festival. Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Pangaea will all champion the Hessle Audio cause; Julio Bashmore will bring Midland along under the Broadwalk Records banner; Skream & Benga will helm their own boat; and Desolat will host Tini, Hector and Robert Dietz.
Friday, meanwhile, will see Numbers welcome Joy Orbison, Jackmaster and Spencer onto their vessel. Shy FX and Dismantle will headline the Digital Soundboy boat, and Bicep and Ralph Lawson will sail for 2020Vision. Rudimental and Kidnap Jones are confirmed for the Black Butter Records showcase.
Hideout runs from June 30 until July 5 2013 at Zrce Beach on the Island of Pag. Tickets and further information are available here.
