Taking place in Barrow-in-Furness and running for three days, Full Of Noises is shaping up to be one of the UKs most curious festivals.
Full Of Noises (or FON for short) is now on its third year, and this time around they’ve managed to rope in FACT favourite Lee Gamble and German electronic weirdo Felix Kubin, who is rarely witnessed on our green and pleasant land.
Over the weekend of July 26, 27 and 28 FON will occupy various locations ‘of acoustic and architectural interest’ in the Barrow-in-Furness area, and use these carefully selected spots to house a series of installations, performances, audio-visual works and lectures.
Lee Gamble is the FON artist in residence this time around and will be performing a multi-channel work based around the legendary EMS Synthi, and while this should be enough reason to make the trip alone, there’s plenty more going on over the three days.
Felix Kubin will be performing ‘Tape Delinquents’ at a local cabaret club the organizers promise is ‘Lynchian’ (which has to be a good thing, right?), Ore are performing a set of ‘amplified doom tuba’, and Herb Diamante is returning to his native Cumbria to apparently channel Edgar Allen Poe.
It sounds to us like a weekend that won’t be forgotten in a hurry, and you can grab tickets here.
