It was all going down on Jackmaster’s BBC Radio 1 show last night.
As well as premiering a new collaboration from Julio Bashmore and Kowton, the Numbers host hosted an exclusive mix from fellow Glaswegian Rustie. The producer’s mini-mix featured a smattering of new material, including edits of Pusha T’s Wrath Of Caine cut ‘Only You Can Tell It’ and Hard Creation’s ‘Who Came To Party’. Two untitled beats are also credited to the mysterious Smiddy, who happens to sound a lot like Rustie and have precisely zero web presence – we’ll let you do the math. Other tunes comes from Darq E Freaker, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Bangladesh.
Head here to listen (you’ll need to skip to around the 24:00 mark). Rustie will release barking new single ‘Slasherr’/’Triadzz’ on Numbers next month. The two “Smiddy” tunes are also available to sample below. If that isn’t enough Jackmaster for one day, FACT have just gone in depth with the man about his forthcoming Pleasure Principle festival.
