Enchufada head honcho Branko has dropped his eagerly awaited Drums Slums and Hums mixtape.
In a past life, Branko operated as J-Wow, producing for riotous kuduro ensemble Buraka Som Sistema. As boss of the BBS-associated Enchufada label, he’s provided an outlet for the likes of T. Williams, DJ Znobia and Diamond Bass. When he puts on his producer’s hat, he’s a reliable go-to for a globetrotting mix of dancefloor sounds – souped-up cumbia, distorted rap, ‘Zouk bass’, &tc.
Drums Slums And Hums arrives on Branko’s birthday, and features recent Roses Gabor collab ‘Waves’. The tape also boasts appearances from notorious readers Zebra Katz and Njena Reddd Foxxx, LV collaborator Okmalumkoolkat and previous collabroator Dominique Young Unique. Other contributors include Compadre, Ezekiel, Orlando Santos, Nastio and Kalaf. It’s great fun – vibrant without being garish, and worldly without falling into the tourist trap.
