The Chicago beatmakers ready a double vinyl LP and share a haunting lead single.
Like their hometown contemporaries Supreme Cuts and Sich Mang, The-Drum (aka Jeremiah Chrome and Brandon Boom) distill a variety of influences — smokey R&B, stark club music, ambient soundscapes — into a unique strand of future-facing electronic music.
On June 25, The-Drum will release their debut album, Contact, as a double vinyl LP, bundled with a vinyl version of last year’s Sense Net EP. The LP will be handled by Audraglint, the Portland, Oregon label that released The-Drum’s debut Heavy Liquid 12″.
Download lead single ‘Sirens’ below. A colliding mass of reverberating percussion, sinewy synths, and exotic samples, it’s hypnotic, haunting, and makes us hopeful for the album. Since the release of Sense Net, The-Drum has been busy as remixers, as part of R&B group JODY, and as collaborators with The Big Pink.
