New York hip-hop DJ Peter Rosenberg says the album is “dark but good.”
With Kanye set to appear on the May 18 season finale of Saturday Night Live, speculation has focused on his forthcoming sixth solo album, at one time rumored to be titled I Am God (which was later revealed as the album’s first single).
Appearing on New York’s Hot 97, Peter Rosenberg says that the album is “done,” with Kanye’s label, Def Jam, hosting “a listening” last week. He says people at Def Jam described the album as “dark but really good,” which is both the least descriptive and most predictable way to describe Kanye in 2013. Listen to the chatter below.
Kanye allegedly recorded the album in Paris, with TNGHT, Daft Punk, Azealia Banks, and Chief Keef rumored as collaborators. Last week, a clutch of decade-old demos surfaced online. [via Consequence of Sound]
