Steven Ellison goes for the cinematic jugular once more.
Kahlil Joseph was responsible for the Sundance-winning promo video that accompanied Flying Lotus‘s 2012 album Until The Quiet Comes, so it’s hardly surprisingly to see the two artists collaborating once more. This time, Ellison throws down an evocative, beatless score to Joseph’s moody Wildcat, a brief but visually arresting short film focused on the unusual African-American rodeo subculture.
Ellison’s treated harp is the perfect backdrop for Joseph’s moody black and white visuals, which shines a spotlight on a usually-invisible part of rural American life. Take a look for yourself below. [via Hypetrak]
