Hessle Audio co-founder Pearson Sound will release a new four-track EP on May 13.

When speaking to FACT around the time of his Fabric mix CD, we debated whether Pearson’s music moves in phases (think the lonely dubstep-techno of ‘Blimey’ et al, the chirpy woodblock house of tracks like ‘Wad’, and then the thinly layered drum machines of ‘Work Them’, ‘Blanked’, etc), and although his answer was a typically humble reference to simply rising his drum kits and then having to stop using them, this EP does – once again – sound like it might be the start of something new for Pearson Sound. Check out the Soundcloud clips below, and you’ll see what we mean. The single is, like last year’s ‘Footloose’, self-released.
