Rather than Lana’s nostalgic tale of hipster love, A-1 analyzes the effects of a “long, hot summer.”
Adam ‘A-1’ Traore emerged last year, filming his video for ‘Double Dose’ amidst the “celebration riots” that followed the San Francisco Giants’ World Series win.
For his latest track, A-1 borrows Ryan Hemsworth’s remix of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’, taking the newly gloomy song into even darker places. With a razor-sharp flow, A-1 details the violence that often accompanies Summer, “when it gets hot out / them whips, chains, and bangers get brought out.”
