808s and release dates.
While Kanye West‘s mysterious ‘June Eighteen’ tweet was confirmed then denied quicker than you could say Kardashian, it looks like that very well might be the date of the confounding rapper’s new album after all. HMV Japan has the forthcoming record down as due on June 19, and while that initially might seem to contradict the initial tweet, it’s worth noting that Japan is a good twelve hours ahead of US Eastern Standard Time, which would put the release exactly where it should be.
This may of course be speculation on HMV’s part, but we can’t help thinking that all the signs are pointing to the record coming out exactly when Kanye suggested it would.
If you fancy some advance tasters of the record, Hudson Mohawke previewed two tracks at a recent show, and while they’re not the best quality, they’re making us very curious indeed. [via Complex]
