The feature-length documentary looks at the history of tax avoidance.
The Telegraph reports that UK Gold will premiere at the Troxy Theatre London on June 25. Directed by Mark Donne, the film features a score by Thom Yorke and Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, and it’s narrated by The Wire‘s Dominic West.
According to The Telegraph, the film “the dramatic battle of a vicar from a small parish in the London Borough of Hackney as he takes on an ancient British institution, revealing its central status as the tax-haven capital of the world.”
“This is a political documentary, but more than anything else it is an extraordinary story,” says Donne, who promises that “a pretty stunning soundtrack from the creative hearts of Radiohead and Massive Attack creates a spellbinding experience.”
The Troxy was chosen because of its location halfway between the financial districts of the City of London and Canary Wharf, and the premiere will be immediately followed by “a special musical performance by a secret act.”
Earlier this year, Yorke spoke about his brief forays into the political world, while Massive Attack and documentary maker Adam Curtis have planned a series of live collaborations for July.
