Who knew Cold Cave could be fun?

Directed by Slava Tsukerman, the director of influential 1982 movie Liquid Sky, the promo video for Cold Cave’s new single ‘Black Boots’ is a truly strange beast. Focusing on Wesley Eisold himself, Tsukerman ushers him through a cheap, lens flare heavy cityscape, bringing to mind the sort of visuals you’d rather associate with an early 90s late night review show.

It’s not going to appeal to everyone, but the track itself is one of Eisold’s finest for a while, accenting the quirky stripped-to-the-bone electronics that made his earliest records so vital.
