Fuck yeah.

Culled from the duo’s recently announced third full-length Slow Focus, ‘The Red Wing’ feels like a perfect example of Fuck Buttons‘ “alien” direction. In fact, it’s not a million miles away from a delirious, noisy, Madlib-indebted take on the more psychedelic moments of Boards of Canada‘s opus Geogaddi, and that’s no bad thing at all.

Blessed with the same layer of fuzz that graced the duo’s previous recordings, the track eventually builds into a crescendo of druggy synths and crashing noise. There’s hardly a better way to exclaim “we’re back”.

The full version of ‘The Red Wing’ is due out on limited edition gold vinyl and digital June 24 via ATP Recordings.
