The recently launched Jealous God label has given away a mix to give us a taste of its musical sensibilities.
Jealous God is run by former Sandwell District members Karl O’Connor (also known as Regis) and Juan Mendez (Silent Servant), along with Blueprint label boss James Ruskin.
Their first release, SS/S – a collaboration between Silent Servant and Svreca – appeared in May accompanied by a mix from Spanish DJ Irazu that hints at the label’s musical inclinations.
Now the mix has been posted to Mixcloud where you can stream or download it free. It features tracks from Blackest Ever Black act Tropic of Cancer, noirish electronic outfit Broadcast and Ugandan Methods, Regis’ venture with Ancient Projects. [via JunoPlus]
Forthcoming Jealous God releases include a new 12″ from Ruskin and music from vintage coldwave outfit In Aeternam Vale. The label has also committed to releasing each of its 12″s with a bespoke art zine, and the first 100 copies of each will also come bundled with an “artifact” such as a bag, badge, or even a dagger.
