In a cultural exchange programme that could see Paul Oakenfold playing a damp basement in Didsbury this summer, Richie Hawtin is bringing some of the world’s bleakest and most uncompromising techno to sunny Ibiza.
The sounds of Manchester witchhunters Demdike Stare, jungle archaeologist Lee Gamble, Andreas Tillianer’s acid project TM404 and visceral warmongerer Vatican Shadow are all set to appear on the Enter: Mind stage at Space between July and September, providing a neat counterpoint to the likes of Nina Kraviz, Damian Lazarus and techno veteran Hawtin himself on the main stage.
Other unusual names on the bill include Photek, James Lavelle, Andy Stott and a DJ set from Canadian pop producer Grimes.
The Enter series runs from 4 July to 26 September at Space Ibiza – look here for more details and tickets.
