The Canadian baroque rockers ready the follow-up to 2010’s The Suburbs.
According to Revolt (Diddy’s new music channel), sources close to the band say that music from the as-yet-untitled album is due out on September 9.
Last month, James Murphy spoke about the band’s recording process. “There’s a lot of them, and they’re mostly self-produced – like, they don’t need a producer in a certain way,” he said. “I think it’s going to be a really great record, actually.”
Prior to the album, the Arcade Fire had owned a church in Quebec that they converted into a recording studio, but the group recorded at Murphy’s DFA Studio in New York after the church’s roof collapsed. [via CoS]
