Jay-Z has further expanded his business venture by becoming a certified sports agent.

Earlier in the year his entertainment company Roc Nation launched a sports agency wing, Roc Nation Sports, which has the New York Yankees’ Robinson Cano, the New York Giants’ Victor Cruz and basketball player Skylar Diggins on its books.

Now the National Basketball Players Association has certified Jay-Z to actually negotiate athletes’ contracts with NBA teams.

Earlier this week, Jay-Z announced his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail, which looks set to feature Nas, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. The album will be released on 4 July with one million free downloads offered to Samsung Galaxy smartphone users.
