‘Initiation’ isn’t from Angel Haze‘s eagerly awaited forthcoming full-length Dirty Gold, but the rapper was kind enough to share it via Twitter today all the same. A tough, moody and delightfully raw cut, this shows Haze at her best – rapping assuredly over particularly sci-fi indebted beatscapes (cribbed from The Weeknd’s track of the same name). It doesn’t sound a million miles from legendary Bristol don Tricky or even Various Production’s outstanding ‘Hater‘, and that’s no bad thing at all.

You have to think, if this is the kind of track she’s left on the cutting room floor, what does that say about the quality of Dirty Gold? Only time will tell.
