New business from excellent house label Mister Saturday Night.
Since their inaugural release last year, club-turned-label Mister Saturday Night have conducted themselves admirably. Following the killer Mad Disrespect platter from Anthony Naples (and a great follow-up, Moscato), they’ve played patron to sax-toting outfit Archie Pelago, Alex Burkat and, most recently, UK crew Dark Sky.
Brooklyn resident Hank Jackson seems ready-made for the label, producing lo-fi house music in the mould of L.I.E.S. and Sex Tags Mania. His debut 12″, Deposit, will arrive on the label “soon”, and, if clips are anything to go by, is up their with their best. The Deposit EP shows a muscle and mean streak reminiscent of Container’s last two albums – B-side ‘Cole’s Lullaby’ is a beatless scrimmage of processed speech and feedback.
