Kowton’s take on Jeremih’s filthy calling card will get a physical release later this month.
‘Fuck You All The Time’ got plenty of remix love, most notably from a particularly brooding Shlohmo Our favourite, though, came courtesy of Kowton, whose version has been percolating around since the start of the year. It’s is a great blend of rough (Kowton’s punchy, overdriven programming) and smooth (Jeremih’s featherweight croon), and serves both parties well.
Juno Plus report that Kowton’s remix will now get a limited white label release. His remix will come backed by a Kahn remix of ‘And What’, taken from Kowton’s recent Mirror Song EP with Julio Bashmore. Kahn’s edit proceeds in a similar spirit to Kowton, fusing the original with Brandy’s ace jam ‘Slower’.
The white label will drop on July 8 with a catalogue number BROADWHITES01, which implies Bashmore’s Broadwalk Records are helping the release. Yesterday, Bashmore unveiled his latest single, ‘Duccy’. Kahn, meanwhile, has just announced a new EP from his Gorgon Sound project. Jeremih’s Late Nights With Jeremih was one of our favourite albums of 2012.
