Shangaan Electro, the bonkers South African dance craze pioneered by producer Nozinja [above], will take over East London this weekend. 

On Friday evening, Dalston venue Birthdays will host the Nozinja Lodge with performances by both Nozinja and Caribou’s Daphni, who recently released Shangaan material on his JIAOLONG label. On Saturday at 9pm, Nozinja and his breakneck Shangaan dancers (Tshetsha Boys, Tiyiselani, Nkata Mawewe) will perform for the public in Dalston’s Gillett Square, while Sunday sees them take on the annual Shoreditch Festival.
