The tinfoil-headed Swedes continue to claw their way out of obscurity with a four-track release for Malmö-based techno label Kontra-Musik.

Analogue fanciers Frak have existed since the late ’80s, but a flurry of releases in the past couple of years has seen the trio’s profile rise incrementally, alerting a new generation to their firecracker live performances. After three EPs for Kontra-Musik’s white label series and a smattering of releases for labels including Sex Tags Mania and Börft, Frak have now announced a four-track EP titled Matador.

As can be detected in the clips on Kontra-Musik’s site, the collection begins with a pair of lower-tempo acid adventures, ‘Raw Space’ and ‘Kom Deluxe’, before stepping up a gear to the fast’n’raw mania of ‘Fragmentus’ and ‘Acid Colour’, emulating the thrill ride of their live shows. Matador will appear through Kontra-Musik on limited hand-stamped 12″ vinyl on 20 August. And if the idea of three guys behind a trestle table overflowing with analogue hardware turns you on, make sure you’re receiving the signal from Magic Mountain High, who recently announced a live LP recorded at last year’s Freerotation festival.

Tracklist:
A1 ‘Raw Space’
A2 ‘Kom Deluxe’
B1 ‘Fragmentus’
B2 ‘Acid Color’
