The Hippos In Tanks outsider shares the first proper taste of NYC, Hell 3:00 AM.
Unlike the previous teaser for Ferraro’s forthcoming album, there’s no “Autotuned R&B-meets-prog balladry” on ‘Eternal Condition / Stuck 2’. Instead, Ferraro lays down a barely-there percussion track, hints of synthetic unease, and his lilting, filtered vocals. The second part of the track uses a clip of an emergency dispatch call to launch a looping noise riff that eventually exposes strings.
Overall, a pretty creepy offering from the always-confounding Ferraro; stream it below. The evocatively-titled NYC, HELL 3:00 AM will drop on October 15 on Hippos In Tanks.
