The Devil rides out.

Atlanta producer The Devil (aka Derek Schklar) emerged earlier this year with Harbinger, which has proven itself to be one of the most underrated mixtapes of the year. A mish mash of influences blending ear-bashing Atlanta street rap with a series of skits and a collage of news clips, the record sounded at times more like a multimedia experiment than a rap mixtape, so it makes sense that Schklar would take things even further.

In this new short film, Schklar expands the project into the visual realm, gracing his sound collage with movie clips and videos for a selection of the tape’s bigger cuts. His very particular visual style (which visitors to his website will already be familiar with) is evident from the very beginning, and to call the film ominous would probably be doing it a disservice.
