Named after the influential punk band’s 1980 EP Black Market Clash, the pop-up shop is set to open in London’s Berwick Street this September.

The store will be promoting the band’s forthcoming boxset Sound System, and the remastered reissue of The Clash Hits Back. It will stand as both a museum of artifacts from the Clash archive (featuring instruments, stagewear, manuscripts and artifacts) and a retail outlet, no doubt selling the aforementioned releases on top of a host of limited edition memorabilia.

Running from September 7-22, the store will have its opening party on September 6, and apparently The Clash themselves will be in attendance. By the sounds of it the band have had a big hand in the store’s curation, helping with selections for the museum and preparing a selection of vintage film and video.

Also on September 6, surviving members of The Clash Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon will be performing a rare interview with Cerys Matthews for BBC Radio 6. If you’re lucky enough to get in to Maida Vale Studios, the band will also be fielding questions from the small audience of fans.

Sound System and The Clash Hits Back will be released on September 9. [via NME]
