New Zealand noisemakers The Dead C are arguably one of the most important experimental acts to emerge from that side of the world, and now frontman Bruce Russell is the subject of this enlightening documentary.

Put together by Russell’s daughter Olive for a high school English class, 27 Minutes With Mr. Noisy charts Russell’s reasons for getting involved with music, the early music scene and his development with The Dead C. We get to see the inside of his studio, some of the gear he uses (in quite some depth), his old haunts and plenty more.

It’s charming, and quite touching stuff highlighting a shard of the music scene that rarely gets the attention it needs, so take a look, you won’t be disappointed. [via The Wire]
