The return of ’90s alt.melancholia leads this week’s batch of album streams on NPR.

Californian dream-poppers Mazzy Star have returned with their first album since 1996, Seasons Of Your Day. Due out next week, the album teams their wistful indie streak with flavours of British folkies like Bert Jansch, with opening song ‘In The Kingdom’ joining the dots between the ’90s duo and their ’00s descendants like Beach House.

Also streaming is San Francisco house producer and Dirty Bird boss Claude VonStroke’s new one Urban Animal, the debut from promising Scottish electro-pop group CHVRCHES and the fourth album from Brooklyn synth trio Au Revoir Simone.
