A second slice of anthemic synth-pop from the new duo.
Joel Ford of Tigercity, Airbird and Ford & Lopatin recently revealed his new project Ejecta with Leanne Macomber of Neon Indian and Fight Bite. After hinting at their glossy, synth-directed 80s pop sound with first single ‘Jeremiah (The Denier)’, they’ve now slipped out another track from their forthcoming debut.
‘Afraid Of The Dark’ sees Macomber inhabit that ice-cool Drive-soundtrack style that echoes cult Portland group Chromatics, while brash synth-stabs underline the track’s Euro-pop ambitions.
The Brooklyn-based project will release their debut album this fall. Stream ‘Afraid Of The Dark’ below; the single is out now on Happy Death Records in the UK and Ford’s new label Driftless Recordings in the US.
