Next month, Belgium is coming to London for a week of events showcasing the country’s electronic music heritage and some of its finest talent past and present.
The Belgium Booms series kicks off on Saturday, 5 October with a night at Corsica Studios featuring sets from original New Beat DJs Dikke Ronny and Eric Powa B, Fabric regulars The Glimmers and newer names Moonlight Matters, ATTAR! and Geoffroy Mugwump, plus a special DJ appearance from EBM and industrial dance expert Trevor Jackson, who recently compiled a second volume of his Metal Dance compilation.
The following Wednesday, Flemish label Kraak will host a night at Cafe Oto featuring performances from Köhn, Floris Vanhoof, Benjamin Franklin, Lieven Martens Moana and Maan, while on Friday, Cafe 1001 will screen the UK premiere of music documentary The Sound of Belgium, alongside performances from some of the scene’s sharpest new acts, including Lefto, Cupp Cave, Pomrad, Squeaky Lobster and LTGL.
The week will be rounded off with a night at Birthdays in Dalston, featuring house and techno from goldFFinch, Surfing Leons, DJ Slow, Richelle and Sagat.
