‘Richard Ramirez Died Today of Natural Causes’ is the first taste of Kozelek’s recently-announced new album Benji, and offers a series of expectedly doomy musings on death, referencing James Gandolfini as well as infamous serial killer Richard Ramirez. It’s a mercilessly stripped down track, finding Kozelek uttering his words hurriedly before the track explodes, just for moments into something resembling a full band.
