R&B’s reigning elder statesman has always had a way with metaphor (‘You Remind Me of Something’, anyone?), and ‘Cookie’ is a slow-burning bedroom jam with particularly — and predictably — sex-charged lyrics. As usual, it’s a bit cringeworthy, as well: what is Kells thinking with a line like “break your back like a lobster”?
