The 90-minute documentary will be shown on BBC Four next week.
A feature-length documentary about Russian art-punks Pussy Riot is being premiered online today via BBC iPlayer. Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer is part of the BBC’s Storyville documentary series and looks into the extraordinary case of the all-female band who were tried and convicted of “hooliganism” following their protest gig in a church last year. The film was a special jury prize winner at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
UK viewers can watch Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer on BBC iPlayer from today until 11.30pm next Monday, October 21.
Two members of Pussy Riot remain incarcerated, with one of the prisoners, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, recently hospitalised after embarking on a hunger strike in protest against conditions inside the jail.
Also part of the Storyville season is The Great Hip-Hop Hoax, a brilliantly bizarre documentary about two Scottish rappers who duped the music industry into believing they were Californian rappers Silibil N’ Brains.
