The chain’s Manchester branch to give out 200 New Order records next month.

To celebrate their high street relaunch after sailing perilously close to disaster, HMV have teamed up with New Order to produce a limited edition clear vinyl run of the band’s debut LP Movement.

New Order bassist and all-round Mancunian icon Peter Hook will be at HMV’s Market Street store in Manchester on November 4 for a Q&A and signing event, where 200 copies of the vinyl will also be given away to earlybird fans.

Meanwhile, Peter Hook & The Light are touring the first two New Order albums – Movement and Power, Corruption And Lies – across the UK and Ireland, starting tonight at East Village Arts Club in Liverpool and finishing up in Belfast on November 23.

Hooky recently expressed his disappointment that a trove of unearthed Joy Division tapes was unlikely to see the light of day after being “held to ransom” by its lucky discoverer.
