The former Limp Bizkit frontman gets a second chance on television.
Two years ago, Fred Durst developed a sitcom at CBS appropriately-titled Douchebag, about a rock star balancing the needs of his family with his wild ways. While it never made it to the air, Durst has received a second chance at US network The CW.
The network is developing a one-hour drama project with Durst called The Noise. Returning to the semi-autobiographical bin, it’s about a musician who “escapes a tumultuous home life and forms a wildly popular band with a unique sound” in the 90s.
Since the demise of rap-metal, Durst has moved to film, directing The Education of Charlie Banks in 2007 and The Longshots in 2008. No word yet on whether or not The Noise will chronicle ill-advised collaborations with Lil Wayne or getting humiliated by Al Jourgensen. [via TV Guide]
