Well, he needed something to do on his week off.
Last week Kanye West hired a baseball stadium to propose to Kim Kardashian. The private moment was attended by dozens of the couple’s closest friends and family, including YouTube founder Chad Hurley.
Then Hurley went and ruined everything by posting a video of the proposal via his newly launched Mixbit video remix app (billed as a competitor to Vine and Instagram. Pretty good publicity for his new venture – he even sent out a press release – but Hurley must have plain forgotten about the confidentiality agreement Kanye’s lawyers say they forced him to sign before he was allowed into the ceremony. (They also say Hurley wasn’t invited, but manipulated his way in.) TMZ report that Hurley was even photographed holding the confidentiality agreement as assurance that he wouldn’t leak any information.
Kanye and Kim are now suing for unspecified damages, and though they haven’t revealed how much, they note that the top secret ceremony was destined for E!, the channel that produces Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Kanye should have a bit of time on his hands to go through the paperwork after indefinitely postponing his much-hyped Yeezus tour. [via CMU]
