U2 might be musical kryptonite to many FACT readers, but you have to admit, the idea of the Irish pop-rock survivors collaborating with U.S. super-producer Danger Mouse is at least a little bit intriguing.
The band have been working with the producer since 2010, and the album has suffered from pretty heavy delays thus far, but we can hope that all involved are simply taking their time to make sure we end up with the best possible product. Sadly, Coldplay sadsack Chris Martin has also been spotted at New York’s Electric Lady Studios, so we’re getting mixed signals to say the least.
The album is set for an April release, and will apparently be ‘properly’ announced via Super Bowl commercial, with the band are looking for the right corporate sponsor to assist. Maybe they should get M.I.A. involved? Stranger things have happened.
