Taken from forthcoming charity compilation You Be My Heart, ‘I Know’ is yet another example why Mark Kozelek is one of our favorite singer songwriters right now.

The tear-inducingly melancholy number follows last month’s gorgeous ‘Micheline’ and the morbid ‘Richard Ramirez Died of Natural Causes‘, which are both taken from Kozelek’s forthcoming Sun Kil Moon album Benji due out February 4 on Caldo Verde.

On You Be My Heart, Kozelek is joined by Marissa Nadler, Saturday Looks Good To Me, Bowerbirds, Horse Feathers and other, and proceeds will be donated to nonprofit 826 National, who very fittingly help out under-funded students to improve their writing skills. [via Consequence of Sound]
