Singer reveals details of next year’s summer shows.

Lily Allen has revealed that she’s been booked to play at next year’s Glastonbury festival. The British singer, who last week unveiled a controversial video for her comeback song ‘Hard Out Here’, was a guest Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning where she revealed that her performance at Worthy Farm will be part of an extensive summer tour.

“It got confirmed yesterday. That’s the first big thing I’m going to be doing. I’ll be doing 16 weeks of festivals over the summer and then tour,” she told Grimshaw, adding: “It’s the best festival, I think – that, and Fuji Rock in Japan.”

The video for ‘Hard Out Here’, her first new material since 2009, stoked controversy on its release last week over Allen’s use of black backing dancers, which many bloggers deemed racist. Allen defended the clip, insisting it was a “lighthearted satirical video that deals with objectification of women within modern pop culture”.
