Indie acts celebrate the cult director known for his knack with a soundtrack. 

U.S. record label American Laundromat is putting together a double-CD tribute to director Wes Anderson featuring songs from his films covered by dozens of indie artists.

Black Francis, Kristin Hersh of Throwing Muses, Matt Pond and Mike Watt & the Secondmen are just some of the 20+ artists signed up for the compilation, which includes songs from The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, Fantastic Mr Fox, Moonrise Kingdom and Bottle Rocket.

I Saved Latin!, which is due out next spring, will be sold at various price points and bundled with extras like a Team Zissou beanie (from The Life Aquatic…), a Khaki Scouts badge (from Moonrise Kingdom), a Max Fischer business card (from Rushmore), a limited edition 7″ and three different t-shirts – check them out on American Laundromat’s website.
