The self-styled “King of Rap EDM” is cooking up a hybrid beast.
Waka Flocka Flame has been teasing the idea of a rap-meets-EDM album since spring, when he hinted he was working on a crossover LP with Flosstradamus, Diplo and Skrillex. Since then the Atlanta rapper’s been palling around with filthstepper Borgore (the fruits of which you can hear below) and is currently touring with EDM kingpin Steve Aoki.
So while there’s no sign yet of Flockaveli 2, the promised follow-up to his 2010 debut album, Waka has now revealed that his rap-EDM album is coming next year and will be called Flockaveli Psychotics.
On being on tour with Aoki, he added: “Steve Aoki is like the electronic Waka Flocka. He just known for turning up. I feel like he do everything I do except without vocals. It’s amazing, I respect him.” Watch the full interview on Hot New Hip Hop.
While you wait for those albums, download Wakaville, the rapper’s new zombie-hunting game for iOS and Android. In the meantime, Waka is being sued by his former friend Gucci Mane following his very public Twitter meltdown – the Brick Squad boss has “lost his noodles”, according to Waka.
