Well, this was certainly unexpected.
When New Jersey singer SZA signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (the home to Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, and more), she shared the self-described ‘glitter trap’ / ‘not R&B’ track ‘Teen Spirit’, produced by teenaged phenom WondaGurl.
Now, 50 Cent has shared a remix of the track that finds the New York rapper detailing a twisted tale of devotion across two verses. However, the way he growls “quit playin’ / come here” is troublesome, considering the man was charged with domestic violence earlier this year.
Watch the remix video below and judge for yourself; check out our interview with SZA about her approach to songwriting and recording.
