Portland’s Liz Harris (aka Grouper) is set to bring brand new commission HYPNOSIS DISPLAY to Leeds next summer.

Accompanied by talented 16mm filmmaker Paul Clipson (who might be best known for his stunning collaborations with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma), the two have created “a meditation on America in sound an image,” which comes as part of a series on American mythmaking sponsored by Opera North Projects. Running at 1 hour 15 minutes in length, the piece muses on the concept taking in fragments of Harris’s beloved West Coast, and will be shown at the Howard Assembly Room on June 5.
