Beyoncé's surprise album will debut at number one on Billboard 200

The singer’s self-titled visual album has already secured the top spot.

Beyoncé shocked the music world early Friday morning with the release of Beyoncé, a 14-song, 17-video visual album that was unannounced and not promoted.

The iTunes exclusive sold more than 430,000 units in one day, with sales expected to top 600,000 when the Billboard sales tracking period ends tonight. Surprisingly, the three-day sales numbers are good enough for number one on the Billboard 200 chart. If the album performs as predicted, it will also top Beyoncé’s personal best debut week; 2006’s B’Day sold 541,000 copies in its first week.

Beyoncé is not available for individual track and video purchases until December 20. A physical release date has not been announced, but the album reportedly went into production with an eye on a pre-Christmas release. The videos can be previewed on Youtube.
