The pop iconoclast is the latest — and strangest — signing to the full-service entertainment firm.

Well, this is certainly surprising: Grimes has joined the “Roc Nation family”, the management/publishing/entertainment company founded by Jay Z and Live Nation in 2008.

Grimes will be managed by Roc Nation, joining a group that includes Rihanna, M.I.A., Kylie Minogue, and others. Roc Nation also acts as a label for artists J. Cole, Rita Ora, Calvin Harris, and DJ Mustard, but according to Roc Nation’s website, she is not joining the label. Her previous albums were released by Arbutus Records, No Pain in Pop, Lo Recordings, and eventually 4AD.

Perhaps Grimes and Jay bonded over their unorthodox approaches to veganism.
