The longlist for the Best Original Song category at next year’s 86th Academy Awards has been revealed, and there are a host of familiar faces on the ticket. Plenty of nominations for The Great Gatsby and the hoards of stars who contributed to its soundtrack, including Lana Del Rey (‘Young and Beautiful’), The xx (‘Together), Jay-Z (‘100$ Bill’) and Florence + The Machine (‘Over the Love’).
Other nominees include M83 (for Oblivion), Karen O (second year on the trot, this time for Her) and Jose Gonzalez and Ryan Adams (for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty). All are hoping to follow in the footsteps of Adele, who won for her Skyfall theme earlier this year, beating off fellow longlisters Rick Ross and Fiona Apple.
