The band will bring Reflektor to the sold-out festival.
Earlier this year, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis promised that the headliners for the 2014 festival would be “three bands who haven’t played Glastonbury.” Looks like he stretched the truth on that one: just-announced headliners Arcade Fire played the festival back in 2007, when admittedly, their profile was a bit lower.
The band broke the news via Twitter. Because of the bait-and-switch, they didn’t make our list of possible Glastonbury headliners. Check out John Calvert’s review of Reflektor, which finds Arcade Fire truly playing as a band “for the first time in their careers.”
