Founder member of Three 6 Mafia Lord Infamous died tragically on Friday December 20 at only 40 years old.
Infamous’ half-brother and fellow Triple 6 founder DJ Paul spoke to XXL about Infamous’s death and his legacy, and shed some light on the situation. Infamous died from a heart attack in his sleep, but this followed a small stroke and heart attack in 2010 that apparently damaged his kidneys. The legendary Memphis rapper had been told by doctors two weeks ago that he had four months to live, Paul said that in the last week his wish was to “get right with everybody that he ever made mad in his life.”
Three 6 Mafia had a long list of beefs over their tenure, but Paul insists that even though people had hate for him and Juicy J “they always loved Lord Infamous. He was the nicest dude in the world.”
Paul also confirmed that Infamous had recorded material for the next album from Da Mafia 6ix, and that he sill plans to have that record released in March 2014. Also, he revealed that the hugely influential (and rare) Come with Me 2 Hell mixtapes that Paul and Infamous put out before Mystic Stylez would be re-mastered and re-released, with the money going to Lord Infamous’s children.
