Fancy some proper techno this weekend? Well it looks like you might be in luck.
London’s Oval Space will be welcoming in Brit techno veteran Luke Slater tomorrow evening, and if you’re familiar with Slater’s output you’ll no doubt know what a fine prospect this is. Slater’s been a permanent fixture on the scene since the late 80s, and has managed to melt together elements of acid house, warehouse techno and 80s electro with a surprising ease.
Assisting Slater will be Shifted, who’s been responsible for a pair of singles on Slater’s very own Mote Evolver imprint, and revered DJ (and former A&R man) Jerome Sydenham. Rounding things off will be sets from Oval Space Music residents Jozif and Fritz Zander.
Update: Blueprint founder James Ruskin has been added to the bill at the last minute, so expect even more techno goodness than before.
FACT put together an in-depth guide to Luke Slater’s extensive techno career, from his beginnings in 1989 to his more recent drops.
