Purveyor of mangled hip-hop Scott Heron (aka Prefuse 73) has come up with a rather novel way to share his new track.
Instead of just whacking ‘Thursday Ringing’ up on Soundcloud, Heron has uploaded the track and its stems to music collaboration platform blend.io, where registered users can grab the files and rework it in any way they wish.
If you’re not a member of the service then don’t worry, you can still take a listen to track itself (or indeed, sign up for full access, providing you have an invite code), but we’re guessing the most fun will be had by users who want to deconstruct it. Funnily enough, ‘Thursday Ringing’ sounds kind of like a few tracks playing at once, so we’re guessing that Heron made the track deliberately oblique as a push to persuade others to decipher it.
