We all know the drill at this point, but forthcoming TV show Launching People at least has its heart in the right place.
Sponsored by Samsung, the show will search out talent from four separate disciplines related to its four mentors. Jazzy belle Paloma Faith will be in charge of the music, international superstar Idris Elba will be on top of the film, photographer Rankin will be handling the still images and food writer Gizzi Erskine will be working with the budding chefs.
The show is encouraging the country’s future creative mind to enter, and it seems like a pretty straightforward process. All you need to do to be up for consideration is put together a 2-minute video all about you and your ambition. We’re guessing bonus points will likely be awarded here for creativity – that means no shooting it your jim jams in front of your MacBook.
Each mentor will pick four candidates who they will work with one-to-one for 2-3 weeks building towards a “grand launch event” which will make “their ambitions and ideas a reality.” The general public will also have a chance to vote for one winner in each category to get granted £500 in personal tuition and £2000 in Samsung products – not bad for a runner-up prize.
